“Autumn Memories”, directed by Ali FakhrMousavi, will take part in its tenth international appearance at the Cardiff International Film Festival in Wales, United Kingdom.

According to Borna News Agency, “Autumn Memories”, directed by Ali FakhrMousavi and produced by Seyed Amir Seyedzadeh from Iran and Victor Wilhelm from the Czech Republic, which was produced last year in Ukraine, will be screened on October 9 at the Cardiff Festival in Wales.

This film, which is the first joint production between Iranian, Czech, and Ukrainian cinema, is marking its tenth international presence alongside works from 24 countries worldwide at the Cardiff International Film Festival in Wales, where only Iran and Japan are representing Asia.

The Cardiff International Film Festival is an artistic event that takes place from October 27 to 29, 2017, in the historic Pierhead building in the heart of Cardiff Bay in South Wales.

The festival is held across 10 different sections, including short films, feature documentaries, short documentaries, music videos, and animations, and in two categories of English-language and Welsh-language films.

So far, “Autumn Memories” has received an honorary diploma and memorial symbol from the Organization for the Support of War Victims affiliated with the United Nations and the European Union, awards at the Carpath Corona International Festival 2016, the Golden Orchid Award, and the People’s Choice Film Award at the Ternopil 2016 festival in Ukraine. It was also the opening film at the Dream City International Festival 2016. The feature film has recently won the Best Feature Film Award at the Calcutta International Film Festival.

“Autumn Memories” is an anti-war romance, filmed in complete press silence with a European crew on the Ukraine–Slovakia border.

The story portrays a girl whose home and family are attacked and violated by terrorist groups. Having endured displacement, blindness, and even the loss of speech, she ultimately manages to find peace and love in another corner of the world, among people who themselves have been harmed by war.

In “Autumn Memories”, Nazanin Ahmadi Shahpourabadi plays the leading female role alongside actors from Eastern Europe.

This film is included in the screening schedule of the Art and Experience group and, according to planning, will be released soon.

Other crew members include:

  • Director of Photography: Dmitri Vishnyak

  • Sound Director: Nik Strelitsky

  • Editing: Alexander Nedbayev

  • Costume Designer: Alena Zavidiouska

  • Production Designer: Ruslan Pysachenko
