Autumn Memories wins Best Feature in Kolkata and screens at Torino’s Filmmaker Day

After winning the Best Feature Film Award at the International Film Festival of Kolkata, Autumn Memories is heading to the Torino Film Festival in Italy.
Autumn Memories, directed by Ali FakhrMousavi and produced by Seyed Amir Seyedzadeh from Iran and Viktor Wilhelm from the Czech Republic, was produced last year in Ukraine. Following its success at the Kolkata International Film Festival, the film will make its eighth international appearance at the Torino Film Festival in Italy.
According to the film’s media consultant, this production — the first joint co-production of Iranian, Czech, and Ukrainian cinema — will be screened in the festival known as Filmmaker Day on October 24 at the Greenwich Cinema in Turin.
This festival, held under the motto “Different Filmmakers from Around the World”, features works by filmmakers from Italy, France, Russia, and other countries.
It should be noted that last week Autumn Memories succeeded in winning the Best Feature Film Award at the Kolkata International Film Festival (AIFF). AIFF is a festival held annually in eight sections in the city of Kolkata, India. The goal of this festival is to introduce world cinema to Indian audiences and to foster international co-productions.
This year, the festival was held for seven days from September 3, with the participation of films from 11 countries, in cinemas across Kolkata. Autumn Memories was the only representative of Iranian cinema at this year’s Kolkata festival and won the award for Best Feature Film.
Autumn Memories is an anti-war love story, filmed in complete media silence with a European production team on the border of Ukraine and Slovakia. The story follows a girl whose home and family have been attacked and destroyed by terrorist groups. Experiencing displacement, blindness, and even the loss of speech, she ultimately finds peace and love in another corner of the world among people who themselves have been victims of war.
In Autumn Memories, Nazanin Ahmadi Shahpourabadi plays the lead female role, performing alongside well-known actors from Eastern Europe.
The film is also scheduled to be screened in Iran within the Art and Experience Cinema Group distribution, with its domestic release planned for the autumn season.
